Categorisation of workers

To bring this in line with the description of workers:

The employers must for the following worker types:

Eligible jobholders:

  • Make sure that employees are automatically enrolled
  • Employers must continue to make contributions to the minimum amount at least
  • Process any opt out notice by the employee
  • Automatically re-enrol every 3 years
  • Keep full records

Non-eligible jobholders:

  • Provide information about the right to opt in
  • If they do opt in they must be enrolled
  • Employers must continue to make contributions to the minimum amount at least
  • Process any opt out notice by the employee
  • Keep full records

Entitled workers:

  • Provide information about the right to opt in
  • There is no requirement for the employer to make contributions
